Battery acid marks on chrome exhaust. It's not bad but more irksome than anything. If I could make the marks silver coloured rather than tan I'd be happy. Silver foil seems to be the go to method, but really? There must be a better or more permanent solution than that.
Not bad enough to go the re chrome route but with winter fast approaching plenty of time to have a fiddle.

Re: Anyone know a disguise for this.
All i can suggest is that the Tinfoil and vinegar trick might put some colour back in to it.
Re: Anyone know a disguise for this.
I've had good results with acid stains using a buffer and a cutting polish to the point it nearly looks like the original chrome again..... sadly though it doesn't last long.

Screw the tin foil into a ball, dip it into the white vinegar, rub it onto the affected area. The theory is the vinegar chemically reacts with the tin foil and transfers it to the affected area of the base object. As the tin foil is softer than the good chrome it shouldn't scratch it.
I'm going to have a play today and will post some before and after pics.

Re: Anyone know a disguise for this.
So we have a clear winner,
Starting point.
After tin foil and white vinegar.
After 0000 steel wool and solvo
Only tried a small patch above and to the left of the khi embossing. New tin of elbow grease to be opened then a quick glo polish to help seal.

I don’t think that’s bad at all! It definitely reduces the visual impact of the stain!
Re: Anyone know a disguise for this.
heating up the area and applying silver solder , then rubbing back with your 0000 grade steel wool??
never tried it but might give a longer lasting coverage, closer to the right colour
