Have meant to do this for the longest time but eventually with the necessary carb rebuild after last winter, i had the thing running with the airbox out the way for once.
I wanted to use a balloon but could only find a nitrile glove. The engine as it stands blows a tiny bit of smoke on gearchanges only and none at any other time but am told it is a bit smelly when riding behind It sees 9000 to 9,500 RPM regularly each time out, and it gets no mercy shown!
I would give the bores, rings, pistons, stem seals, valve sealing faces about 8 to 8.5 out of ten for condition so it was no real surprise to see that although the engine can inflate the glove, it couldnt pressurise it to remove the wrinkles in any meaningful way.
There is no point to this or conclusions to be derived but i just wanted to see what it was doing. If i had pods on, i guess i could have done it many times before now to check for any degradation.

Be interesting to see what a newly rebuilt run in motor does? At the end of the day, it's a breather....and it's breathing. Was there oil inside the glove?

No oil or oil smoke visible from the breather when its open and running. That may be different when you connect the airbox and the slight vacuum that it gives. I'm about to do the end of year compression test and ill flick the top off and replace stem seals and rings and lap the valves. I will re-test afterwards.

A slightly longer bit of pipe and you'd be fine - or a much longer pipe fed to over the chain.
