Re: Early (rear rim) codes ??
3F = June 1973 where 3 = year (eg 4=1974, 5=1975 etc) and F = month (letters A to L for Jan to Dec)
305 is the code for a rear wheel rim for H1 and H2. 303 is for Z1 models

Thank you John, you see you summed that up clearer than anywhere else i could find. A is for Jan and B is for Feb and so on, it was the 303 vs the 305 that was throwing me. You seem to be in the know, the brake/wheel hub is the same on the Z1 and the H1 and 2 right?

Is there a definitive list of the wheel codes which details which Takasago rim number was allocated to which bike model?
Cheers.

Effectively yes. They are interchangeable but the hole pos for the damper rubbers is different as below

Thanks for that, appreciated, partzilla lists them as different but hard to find a definitive, just scored a deal for 70 pounds for a whole wheel, 73 H1. rim will be up for grabs but ill be keeping the hub.

Thanks for that post z2-john, very interesting, back brake noise doing my head in and I have tried all sorts to fix it, will look at the lateral movement on the pins.
