rebuilding factory z1r shocks.

#1 PostAuthor: Z1streetfighter71 » Mon May 20, 2024 12:07 pm

Has anyone done a rebuild on factory shocks, any tips will be appreciated. Im presuming they are the same as others, drill out the pin at the top and unscrew? Can petrified rubber eyelets be bought?

Is there any need to secure the strut while unscrewing or compress the spring?

From memory I seem to remember having to compress the spring and clamp the rod to unscrew the top after nocking out the pin but it Was nearly twenty years ago  I was riding it a lot more then cos it was the only one I had and to be honest I got bored and got some Koni Dial a Rides and never looked back
