Z1000 R2 Lawson Sprockets and chain

Good afternoon.

The chain and sprockets on my 1984 Lawson need replacing so after a fruitless search online and in the manual to see if the current items fitted are correct/good I thought i'd post.

The chain is an endless Did 630V.
The engine sprocket has 15 teeth.
The rear sprocket has 38 teeth.

I appreciate that different people might have their own preferences re ratios etc but a brain-pick made sense.

Cheers

Stu

I changed mine for 530 about seven years ago or more. Still the same chain and sprockets after 60 or 70 track days with that setup and only adjusted it a tiny amount three times. All still good and dont look dis-similar to original. Cheaper, stronger, cooler running, longer lived, easier to find and buy (rear sprocket might take some finding) quieter, absorbs less power, choice of colour or finishes. Cant recommend it highly enough.

Hi.
For the road I take the view if its not broke don't fix it. On my B2 I'm running EK630 chain, Kawasaki 16T front sprocket - JT 38T rear giving a theoretical 140 at 9000 rpm. No adjustment as yet in 3000 normal road riding. The bike came under geared with a 41T rear sprocket so I had to find an original EK rivet link to shorten which came from Germany.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have a look into those options and see what's out there.
