This might be the wrong section,but can anyone point me to a forum for the above. Just looking to fined out a bit more about them. I know where there is one going for sale, and probably won’t ( defiantly shouldn’t) get it, but it’s worth a look. I found some sites but they appear US based, also not on FB and don’t really want that hassle of joining it again,life is too short to have head stuckin phone all the time.

The Forum Will listed is a good start point, but as these bikes are much rarer it's less busy.
Main (expensive) bits to look for are Tanks, Turbo's and Original pipes. Other than this they share quite a lot of bits with the NA750 (other than the engine internals).
I've had my turbo around 3 years and absolutely love it, the surge when the boost comes in is VERY addictive.
So you Definitely 'Should' get one.

That is not what my wife would think!
Thanks for the advice. I know I shouldn’t even go look at it, but it’s only one page out of the cheque book, as they say!
I know this is very dependent on individual bikes, but they a practical bike to bring on long runs or trips or are they a bit temperamental this stage forty years on?

I found the problem is finding one that's not been messed with, ie go faster bits and wind up the boost. I got lucky in that mine was for the most part original and I knew where it came from.
Mine is euro spec and is comfy enough on distances, but US spec bikes have slightly higher bars so a little less pressure on the wrists if that's your thing. Other than the odd gremlin mines been reliable enough for a 40 year old bike. Brakes and suspenders are of the period (ie Ok, without being amazing) and fuel consumption is also Ok providing you don't spend too much time on Boost
They do tend to pull a crowd as well, usually with their heads stuck in the fairings trying to find where the Turbo unit is.

Clutch basket dampers fail on a regular basis so take that into consideration too.

On the down side underseat storage is non existent and she's a lardy old girl to move when you have to push her around, also the factory mirrors were clearly designed by someone with a sexual fetish for elbows as that's all you can see in them, many owners go for replacements.

I went and looked at the bike and it seemed pretty straight. It had gone through some form of retoration by the looks of it, It was pretty clean, the exhausts had slith pitting below the surface, so I recon they were cleaned down and coated. Otherwise pretty fresh and standard except for the seat.
I made and offer and it was excepted, so just have to pay balance and collect first chance I get.
I agree with all of the above, especially the mirrors! only thing is, there won't much sneaking up the inside of one of these! It's Ballistic!
I'll post photos when I get it.

Are these same as 650 baskets or are they upgraded? And is the rebuild/ replacement straight forward or Ball Ache?
