So Im trying to return my Z1rs wiring back to stock, the P.O had grafted in a bunch of new bits and chopped the loom/harness up a bit, so a new loom is in but i want it fairly factory stock, while the old loom is being fixed up ready to go back in i want to return the bike back to the original rectifier/ regulator anything else that was lost on the way. Problem is im woring with dodgy internet loom diagrams. Have a few you tube vids of Z1r restoration but main bit that puzzles me is this resistor. NO.40. and eher it is located, below the battery box? Also if anyone has a good scan of a D1 wiring diagram it would real appreciated.

Im pretty sure you sussed its either a stateside or canadian model and thats all part of the reserve lighting circuit does this help

Thanks for that Keith, its way more readable than the one i have, i read into it and its not that inportant right now and by the frame numbers its a Euro bike. Another question that i have you Is the lead wires on the REGULATOR
21066-025 longer on the Z1r? the one i have doesnt seem to reach.

Out of the six ive done only one was an American bike and I had a tendency to cut the connectors off of the Regulators to graft onto the combination units so couldnt say for sure.
Just bin in the loft and found 5 old rectifiers a couple of reg units wiv the wires cut and the old resistor pack, pretty sure the reserve lightintg unit is up there as well, seem to remember it were a right git to wired out and bypass

With this bike im trying to bring it back to stock as possible, In time ill try and salvage the original loom, this aftermarket will do till after the summer, right now im trying to get it ready for a show in may. Z1r two can have all the aftermarket parts as i put the factory stuff back on number one.

Yea must be something im doing wrong or it might be a Z1 one, either way i can dig out a z1000 one from one of the many boxs stored away.

Hello mate: just been out and run a bit of string round the wiring on mine to get a decent idea of length. It told me two things:
1. The length of the wire from exiting the green plug to entering the regulator is 375mm give or take a few mm.
2. I now know how long a piece of string is.

I've attached a couple of pics, don't know if they'll help. The wiring on mine runs from the green plug, round the back of the battery and into the reg from below.

Complete day one rookie mistake on my behalf. Kinda was hoping no one would notice… looks like a Z1 one got mixed in with my Z1r box and I just picked the first one. Here is the two of them side-by-side. I am living with my shame.

Thanks for that but now I know you have easy access to a Z1r I might be annoying you with more questions

I had a gut feeling the regulator was on the other side but wasnt sure enough to commit ...its bin a long time .. glad you rorted

Nobody wants to look like the fool bar the guy whos bike it is... everything is in place now, finishing the carb rebuild tonight and should be tackling the wiring tomorrow night.
