Z1000R2 decals

#1 PostAuthor: Skid Mark » Fri Aug 18, 2023 9:31 am

After various distractions and the bike sitting untouched for over twelve months, I am making a push to get it finished.
Can some one please confirm, was the tacky crest with the signature on Euro bikes or just USA etc.
There wasn't one on it when I got it in the late 90's but it was resprayed.
Thanks in advance.
Phil

Not sure it helps Mark but I'm just completely repainting a R2 for non member. Because the thing had been painted at least 4 times, we'll the tank anyway, I went back to bare metal. The first 3 finish coats were lime green with blue/white/gold detail. Albeit the middle one had low strips the first and third had high stripes.
When I eventually got back to the original paint it was white with high red/blue/gold detail.
None of the top coats including the factory paint had the shield on top although the owner wants it on this job even though its a UK bike (and tank).

Thanks Warren,
Funnily enough my tanks and actually whole bike was in R1 colour with the low strips and j style twin clocks and top yoke. It even had the blue R. I will put it back to R2 but don't fancy my chances getting the Red 1000R emblems at a reasonable price so for now the Blue R will go back on.
I don't like the crest myself so I'm happy to hear they were not UK/Euro spec.

It's easy enough to repaint the emblems Mark. I've done the sides and tank badges already to go on.
If you wanna know the easy way message me.
