Afternoon guys
Well yet more fun and games, after the issue with slipping clutch thought id best re check spring bolts and torque with lock tight.
Good job i did as 1 was loose, tried to tighten up but wasnt having it.
Stripped full clutch down found someone prior to my purchase had bodged 1 of the pillars with a 8mm bolt through the clutch spring plate and superglued it in place, glad i found now as can imaging the damage if that had come loose at speed.
This is getting silly everything on this bike is either a bodge or not been done properly. Is there anyway to fix this or is it a new full clutch basket? I was thinking maybe a 10mm bolt drilled centrally and tapped to 6mm inserted from the rear, with the head ground down, but im contious this would make it out of balance?
Alternatively anyone know if other models are the same and will fit tge Z900?
All i can say is when you get an import fully strip it to check BEFORE riding it!!!
Got feelers out for replacement as new not available.

Update, got a few replies from forum members and Zpower too, was lucky enough to get a good used one, as new no longer available, just awaiting its arrival then i can refit full clutch and get back to my original intention of re fitting clutch outer casing along with new gasket and screws too. Using Phillippes advice i ground of the previous road rash and polished it to a shiny finish, not as good as new but 150% better then it was and as good as i could get it.
Hopefully that will be the last issue i have.
But time will tell!
Update:
So clutch centre arrived, gave it a good clean and then fitted used locktight on centre nut and 6mm spring bolts, all torqued correctly, want any inadvertantly coming undone. Clutch plates lightly oiled, new gasket fitted smeared with same stuff i used on engine cases, silver in colour and supposedly easy to pull apart if needed.
I alao bought a brand new clutch cable as my original was too long
( think it was for high rise bars) mines gone back to UK standard bars so i had to re route it, worked fine but decided to have it as it should be. Just need the proper clamp now rather then a tywrap that was in place!
Feel im finally getting there be it slowly, next is fill it with oil and hope for no leaks.
One thing i have noticed front rim is original Takasago but starting to pit, which spoils it!!!
The rear has been replaced and i rebuilt it with new spokes, inner tube rim tape and rear tyre. Was going to leave it as its been a really expensive rebuild already.
So options are
1. run it as is as its got a new tyre on it already.
2. Strip front wheel down replace rim and spokes not sure you can still get original Takasago ones least at decent price, but as rear is unstamped its prob a pattern part, so having a pattern front wouldnt be too out of character, then sell on Takasago rim.
3. Have rim re chromed as in good condition apart from rust spots.
I know this is expensive and takes ages too.
Thoughts guys?
