I've sprayed a few small frame parts with Simoniz Tough Satin Black but would like to spray the frame with a spray gun. I've contacted Holts and asked them if they have a RAL code for the paint and they've replied saying it is not RAL matched and suggested I do a sample with the spray gun and have a look. Fair enough, but I don't want to buy some paint to find it's miles away. Has anyone done an unofficial RAL check on the Simoniz paint?
Cheers

Re: RAL code for Simoniz
Good morning Pete
if you're talking about the black paint, I can tell you that the RAL number is 9005. I use the 80 % gloss for the frame and frame parts.
I have no idea how much % gloss the Simoniz is. If you use a gloss paint keep in mind that the initial gloss gets a bit duller when the paint is really dry after a few weeks.
Use a two component epoxy paint (paint and hardener) and preferably a paint that can be applied straight to the bare metal (DTM).
If you want to use that paint, here's a link to a shop in Ostend (Belgium):

I have no idea if they ship the paint to France.
Good luck!

Thanks Philippe, I'll have a closer look. It seems they do supply to France but their online purchase page doesn't seem to be working at the moment. If it turns out they don't, no problem, I have Belgian friends who come here often.
