misaligned carb float pin

Guys,
just a bit unsure what to do without breaking anything.
Z900 a4 26mm carbs, all stripped and cleaned. Started to rebuild them with new float valves and gaskets (thanks Nigel), choke seats (thanks Rob) and screws &pins (z power).
All was going well until I got to no.3. The pin that the float pivots on had a bit of a bend in it and when I put it back in it seized the float solid.Managed to move it round a bit and it slightly freed the float but not much.
A new pin will go through thr float okay and through the holes in the legs of the body okay, but put them together and I'm assuming one of the legs is out of line as it seizes the float again. :(
I don't want to give the legs a tap incase they snap....been there done that....is the only answer to get a replacement carb body??
And if it is, does anyone have one??

Thanks again guys,
Pete

If one of the holes in the legs is out of line, slightly warped or twisted then just get a sharp twist drill of the same size as the pin and carefully line ream the holes straight with the drill bit being worked in your fingers.
If the pin slips through the holes and also the float pivot there's no reason for the pair to jam once assembled.
It's possible that distance between the legs is a little tight causing the float pivot to bind in which case the inside of one of the legs may need easing with a needle file.

Cheers Rob,
I'll give that a go.....I don't think it's much that's sticking.
