Afternoon Guys so ive bought a set of metal indicators and shafts for my bike they look like either original or extremely good replica as they are metal and heavy they also have genuine Stanley Lenses.
When they arrived they had no nuts on the thread for fitment, i measured the thread and it looked like M10 so got some M10 nuts and they dont fit, so i have a metric AF tap and die set, so tried equivalent AF size nut no still wont fit. Tried all 4 stems they are all same thread.
Any one know what the thread should be?
Thanks

It’s usually M10 x 1.25 pitch which is a fine M10.

You should be able to find M10x1.25p BZP plated nuts which are 14mm A/F on eBay quite easily which are the ones you want as opposed to the 17mmA/F nuts which are usually standard coarse pitch M10!

Mr Megapacks is usually quite good and has an eBay presence.

Well it seems the problem is its not 1.5 pitch its 1.25 pitch, hence why none of the M10 nuts fit, they are hard to get hold of the 1.25 , no idea why these are 1.25 if everyone elses are 1.5.

No, as per my earlier posts, they are all pretty much 1.25mm pitch with very few exceptions!

Do you read the posts where we try to help?

Hi r3sc, yes sorry had brain freeze, i have 2 sets of indicators the ones that came with the bike, these are M10 x 1.5 thread hence why nuts dont fit and initial query.
Was going to re use these as in new condition but the lenses are more like Hodna ones then Kawasaki, so then thought I'll just replace the lenses for correct Kawasaki ones, No camt do that as different diameter, so bought a good used set from ebay which are correct, but the seller didnt supply the nuts with them.
Obviously i tried the ones on the old indicators and didnt fit, so taking your advice ordered some from ebay advertised as M10 x 1.25 BZP and when i tried to fit them they didnt fit either, turns out they advertised them as 1.25 pitch but supplied standard 1.5 pitch! Free delivery, So itl cost as much to return them as keep them. Hence above post as then thought perhaps its 1.0 pitch rather then 1.25. So borrowed a pitch gauge, No you were spot on its def 1.25, its the nuts supplied as 1.25 but in fact were 1.5 hence issue.
Yes Warren i did google them thanks, found several places advertising locally Screwfix, Euro car parts, Toolstation etc, took part with me, they all say they have the 1.25 pitch but in reality their all the 1.5 pitch so dont fit.
Its going to have to be a specialist supplier.
My point was why put 1.25 pitch on indicators stems when everything else uses the standard M10 ×"1.5 pitch? Oh and the 1.25 pitch ones are 4 times the price too, yet made out of same metal, same size. Couldnt even find the ones with 14mm flats they are all 17mm probably as they are not the 1.25 pitch.

Just did a search for m10x1.25 kawasaki and loads of other stuff came up relating to engine etc. so looked on Cradley's site, put in a GT550, as a random age related-ish bike and it shows 10mm flanged indicator nut.

So the nuts will probably be used across many bikes, makes sense financially. These actual ones may not be what you've after put I bet they have one that's close.
Try your local kwak dealer.
Alternatively most industrial estates have bearing and fastener suppliers.

Many thanks to all for all the replies, finally managed to get the nuts i needed from FR Scott in Hull specialist supplier, darnt risk ebay again.
Got 4 stainless M10 x1.25 and 4 Locking nuts for the grand total of £1.54 result and a lot cheaper then Kawasaki who wanted £4.98 per nut, all the ones on ebay wernt free postage and by the time you add £4 on makes them very expensive,
Best of all they fit!
Cheers guys
