Carb verification

#1 PostAuthor: moizeau » Thu Mar 02, 2023 6:41 pm

These are on the spares z650, Keihin. From what I've read these are off a CSR, which would be correct but just need clarification. I couldn't find the numbers with a google.

Also, what's the thoughts regarding these and the VMs on my F1? I suppose it depends on the condition but which are the best if both are in good nick, performance etc. wise.
Cheers

Guess it depends on the size of the keihins. There's a few guys on the z650 proboards forum that swear they are an upgrade and give a smoother power delivery but there are some downsides which involve altering the air box I think.
Tbh, never had issues with Mikunis and not a mod I would do.

Yeah, read that Warren, maybe ZR750? Saw the mod enlarging the airbox holes and offsetting the outer ones. Just one up in the air atm while I sort what I want to keep.

I've posted on the Z650 site and no one is sure. I was advised to post on the KZR forum but still waiting on member status confirmation. In the meantime I have some more info and pics.
They are Kiehin CV 34mm. The carb to airbox rubbers OD is 55mm and they have a manaul choke lever on the side as opposed to the cable set set up. It looks like they have been sprayed black, or at least the outsides of 1 and 4 have as well as 3 of the tops. They were actually fitted to the bike but I haven't looked to see if the intake rubbers have been adjusted.

Anyone like to take a punt?

Yep, seen them, all sorted now, they are from a '82/83 z750. Also just had my confirmation email from KZR.
