1000r forks

I got my forks re chromed last year, I fitted them and all seemed good though there was a slight discolouration but couldn't be sure and definitely could not feel an edge. ( you know where this is going).
Bike has not been on the road yet as I am only getting around to sorting the tank and body work after a busy summer. Fast forward to a few days ago and I notice a small pool of oil under the front end. The bike is very occasionally moved and the front break applied as you do. This was enough to reveal a leaking seal. That's no big hassle and easy to sort I thought... When I put the bike on the lift I notice there is discolouration to the other leg. It appears that it was brought back down to steel when they turned it after re chroming.
I rang the company who did it, they happen to be the only remaining company in Ireland doing chrome. The owner answered the phone. He was in a bad crash almost a year ago and hasn't worked since, the business is closed. If he does open again he will do the forks but he has no idea if or when. So, with customs an absolute bitch now to send something over and then back again, and a lot of UK companies have simply stopped trade with Ireland, can anyone advise on cost and availability of a good set of forks or alternatively can anyone recommend somewhere that will rechrome the forks again.
Thank
