Mystery bracket

#1 PostAuthor: sean_rfi » Mon Nov 07, 2022 4:03 pm

Hello All,

I wondered if anyone might be able to help me. I'm just at the point of refitting my centre stand but there is a small bracket that I think (possibly) may have been part of the assembly.
I could well be mistaken and find it belongs elsewhere. I would be very grateful if some could identify it from the photos and let me know where/how it should be fitted.
I can't find it in any assembly diagrams and don't appear to have a photo of it's original location.

Thank you...

Might help to know what bike you have. However, looking at my parts books for Z1-z900A4 and the z1000s A1-2 and Z1R I can't see anything that resembles it in the centre stand area ,and the frame to engine bracket at the right rear to the engine, behind the rear brake switch is close but it has 2 more bolt holes in it.
I look forward the the expertise of others

It's a main stand stop for when a 4-1 pipe is fitted

Thank you! - the bike had an original 4 into 4 system when dismantled.
Was this fitted as standard to all bikes or only fitted for a 4 into 1 system as an add-on?
I was trying to workout how it was actually fitted - I can only guess that it was on one of the centre stand bolts between the inner bracket and nut?

It's not a Kawa part. If you have a 4-4 leave it off

I am enlightened! Presumably it fits under the bolt head of one of the centre stand bolt , with the flange facing towards the centreline of the bike. But L or R side- maybe you have to try it and see.
NOT a standard Kawasaki fitment I don't think ( my 900 A4 doesn't have it)

I'll leave it off - thank you very much for the help.

Just being curious.......would this have been supplied by the pipe manufacturer or a stand alone part that was ordered separately ?

Cheers,
Pete
