I have a 1973 Z1 and it is an import from the USA with the short mudguard.
My question is: what size plate looks good with this set up? I have applied for an inspection visit from DVLA and hope to address this soon.
Many thanks

legal plate looks ok. One size down ok and not too obvious
personally I think tiny plates look silly and are asking to get you stopped.

All mine are 8x6, standard ones are 9x7. I've never had any problems with plod.

My plate is narrower as it only has six characters, and on my adnoh import it has a smaller plate as a UK size plate does not fit properly without the risk of breaking.

I took the same view too, don't take the you-know-what & plod should leave you alone. I too have naver had any issues with plod with this size plate.

8 x 5 great, where did you get them from?

I'm not after a tiny plate, just one that sits in the curve of the short mudguard. 8 x 5" looks perfect

Sorry ment to say 8x6 not 8x5.
I get mine from evilbay but it's getting harder because some want proof of the v5, most classic bike shows have someone making 'show plates'
