Any advice please, after rebuilding and installing my Z1R engine, i came to fit the advancer and dyna and found the locator pin for the advancer on the crankshaft has been broken off.
Question is can this be drilled out, is it a solid pin, can I get a replacement pin or fit a roll pin etc….anyone experienced this.
Any advice appreciated, i dont really want to tear it all down again!
Cheers
Rob

Happened me also.
On the j/R's its a 4x8mm roll pin from memory, imagine its the same on older models.
A fine extractor or very find pick should get it out and then cut down a 4mmx20 pin worked for me.

Some have a roll pin and some a solid dowel.
Roll pin is usually easy to get out with a small wood screw, self tapper or drill up the middle.
The dowels can be hard or soft which you won't know until you try to drill it out.
A very strong magnet can sometimes pull out the remains.

I have a motor with a snapped drive pin for the auto advance. Someone before me has drilled a second / new hole and fitted a new pin 180 degrees / diametrically opposite the old pin. Just wire the ignition 180 degrees out i.e. swap the wires from the points or pickups.
