Rear shock retoration.

Hi.
Almost finished tidying up my B2. Still thinking of replacing the rear shocks but have also decided to restored the finish on the original shocks as
they work ok for now.
Does anybody have info/experience of disassembly? The damper position indication/numbers at the top shroud are tatty - are replacements available?
