Z1000A1 Upper Front Brake Pipe

Hi All,
On the A1, the upper front brake pipe has a spring round it to offer some protection.
When the bike was brand new, was the spring bright zinc plated or was it black?
I know it’s a bit rivet counter’ish but I’d like to get it right.
