Can I take it that the coil aspect of this schematic is incorrect.
Should be 1 4 2 3 :??

Yes! that diagram could be confusing to the uninitiated with the plugs not numbered.
1 coil serves 1 and 4 and the other 2 and 3.
Wasted spark.
