Never seen this one before....
My Z1B starts fine on electric starter when cold. Once it is hot it wont work and I just get the dreaded click from the solenoid when button is pressed (thank god for the kickstarter back-up!).Once engine has cooled down it works again. Thought it might be coincidence about the hot/cold issue but it consistently does it now when hot/cold. Very odd. Anyone had this happen?

Re: weird fault
brushes worn on the starter motor? loose/broken wiring feed between solenoid and starter motor? ( the broken wires will expand and separate as the engine heat warms the cabling up) duff solenoid?

Thanks gray. This was my initial thought as well.
