Guys,
just to satisfy my curiosity.........
this fuel tap was fitted to an American import kz900 but due to the outlet positions compared to a standard one I'm just wondering if anyone knows which model it might be off??
It's not going back on the tank anyway but I just wondered......
Cheers,
Pete

Re: fuel tap
No, it is correct. This is the same as a 100% original survivor UK bike in this picture.
One outlet facing forward the other faces across the carb rack.

Re: fuel tap
Hi warren3200gt
I think it's a fuel tap from a Z900A4 but I'm not completely sure.
I know that one model has that kind of fuel tap but I hesitate between Z900A4 and Z1000A1.
Perhaps someone more knowledgable than I can confirm the model.

Re: fuel tap
Hi Philippe, the picture I posted is a 900 a4. Thought Pete was talking the same model. If he's not then ignore my post.

Re: fuel tap
I have an A1 with its genuine tap on and it’s the same as Pete’s second picture, ie both outlets parallel to each other!
Re: fuel tap
Yes, I'd second that, the fuel tap on my A4 is same as Petes second photo too. Both outlets are parrallel. Photo 1 Perhaps an aftermarket replica tap?
Re: fuel tap
The tap with the perpendicular outlets (pic 1) is for the (K)Z900-A4/A5 Models (Part number 51023-055) it was unique to the Z900 models. For the (K)Z1000-A1 model it reverted back to the parallel outlets (same as Z1 - Z1B models) Part number 51023-062.
Not sure why KHI did this and I am sure that there are many Z900 and Z1000 with either tap as and when Kawasaki exhausted their stock of taps at the end or beginning of production runs. Therefore everyone is probably correct in their interpretation of the pictures.

I would agree that the one with the L shaped outlets is Z900.

Re: fuel tap
The pic I posted is a survivor 100% original 900A4.
Thats why I said the L shape is correct if that's what bike Pete has.
If Pete is not talking A4 and is talking 1000A/2 then no it's not correct.

Re: fuel tap
Thanks guys.
I think that goes to show that over the years...if it fits, fit it...
The tank, I believe, is from an A1 so I assume there are many differences between genuine UK machines (Warren's.a4) and American imports. My a4 (US) has the parallel outlets and this one, (US) has the L profile.
I'll be keeping the tap as a spare and fitting a repo from z-power as the bike is anything but original
Once again thank you for the wealth of information in this club!
