Gpz750R1 (1982) carb issue

#1 PostAuthor: Philippe » Fri Dec 02, 2022 4:10 pm

Hi men
I'm having a bit of a problem with the fine tuning of the Mikuni carbs on my Gpz750R1.
The engine ran yesterday but only after a lot of effort. It's damned difficult to get her running, if not impossible...
Once the engine became warm, it starts immediately. It takes up revs when the throttle is twisted and runs smooth.
I guess it's a problem with the pilot air screws. In the manual there's no mentioning of how much turns the screws need to be backed out.
The float level is good on all the four carbs. The carbs were cleaned in an ultra sound bath and all the openings were blasted through with compressed air. I don't know what I can do more.
Help! Can someone on here give me a hint please?
Thanks!
Philippe

Enricher circuit all check out?
Get a colour tune so you can SEE what's happening with the mixture.

Hi guys

I found the solution: the air screws should have 1 1/4 turn out.
@ warren3200gt: thanks, all fine now!
