Z1 number plate

#1 PostAuthor: Adrian90s » Wed Nov 02, 2022 8:30 pm

Whats the smallest size 'classic' number plate I can use on a 1973 Z1? I have been told 9 x 6" , which would still look naff on a rear short mudguard. Is that the smallest available in that year?
Thanks

If you've 7 digits 9x7 is the legal size but I always use 8x6 and never had a problem, sometimes the mot guy mentions it but I simply swop to the bigger size then change it back when I get home.

if you want a sense of proportion, this one is 7"x6" but it helps if you have a "1" in the number

I'm going for 8 x 5" , the plate will rest above the lip on the short mudguard.
