I've never had to add a spacer that I recall on any 650 ones I've done.

Twin 38's will give you 42% increase in piston surface area over single 43.
650/750 and smaller would be 38's

Or go 38 left and right. Don't think you'd notice much difference unless your going single to twin then it'd be an improvement over single 43.

I've got several 650/900/1000 calipers in various states. I think the 1000 has 44mm pistons and the 650 has 38mm. I'll have look and see if I have what your after.

In my experience the blast media to remove Chrome needs to be pretty abrasive and wont leave a great finish for powder coat. I wanted a set of red springs on an old set of period girlings and was advised by the coaters to plastic coat straight over the chrome after smoothing any rust spots. Not bein...
