Thanks to all, refitted disc and fettled calipers a little and all now running sweet as, took her for a blast yesterday and all was fine and dandy. Thanks again to all for their help and suggestions.

as it's the L side, check its not something to do with the speedo drive - it is sitting correctly ie raised part of the speedo casting below and behind the raised part on the fork leg casting to prevent it rotating forward too far? So front wheel off, disc rotor off and this is what lies beneath: a couple of spots bits/bleeds, maybe 1mm,1.5mm thick but obviously extra to the surface. I will get these off and also take disk to friendly engineers to check if/how it is warped but looks good on my engineers ruler and straight edge...

So back again, hope everyone not too hot, finally got some time in the garage. Stuck choke sorted, 2 of 4 plungers were seized solid so a long soak in some diesel sorted them.
