Speedo Glass Removal. 1981 KZ1000
Can anyone advise the best way to remove this glass from the metal casing ?
The rubber seal is quite hard after 44 years.
Glass is very thin so easily cracked.
Thank you

Re: Speedo Trip Knob Removal (KZ1000)
Thank you Fluff, You were correct, it is a LH Thread and I did manage to get it off but it was well seized. No hole in the base to stop the spindle turning so just a good grip with pointy nose pliers did the job. Next question............. Does anyone know what shade or colour reference the light bl...

Re: BS34 Carbs ?
Thanks Al, So it looks like there are 2 different types and designs of carbs but with the same name / reference (BS34). My 1981 KZ1000 CSR has BS34's without coasting enricher diaphragms, but when I search BS34 on Google it shows images of them with and without them. Its unusual for any manufacturer...

Have you set your mixtures with a Colortune Plug ?
If not, its well worth buying or borrowing one as its the only way to get them spot on.

Re: BS34 KZ1000 Carbs. Rich
Thanks Warrren,
That is exactly how my 4 plugs look too.
I only use E5 fuel.
Thought I was going mad, but obviously its just the way these carbs / bikes run.
Appreciate your help as ever.

BS34 KZ1000 Carbs. Rich
I am running a 1981 KZ1000 CSR with BS34 Carbs. Bike is 100% standard other than a Delkevic 4 into 1 which runs on standard jetting. Standard airbox with standard air filter. Carbs are 100% cleaned and refurbished with all standard jets. Float heights spot on by the manual and fluid heights spot on ...

Re: Sea Foam ?
It depends how "stuck" they are. Remove spark plugs. Pour the MMO into each cylinder (use a syringe or pipe with a funnel) Leave at least 24 hours to soak through. Alternatively you can add it to petrol if bike is running. I bought a Z1300 engine that had not been run for years and had no ...

Re: Sea Foam ?
Marvel Mystery Oil works very very well for releasing piston rings.
I have used it with success on numerous bikes in the past.
