Re: Z900 A4 not running right on 2 cylinders
Balanced carbs will certainly make a difference and sounds more likely the source of the problem. The voltage should rise once running , at 13.8V shows your reg/rect is working amongst other parts in the charging circuit. Good to hear you have a result, would give the plugs at look at once you get o...
Re: Zed Parts
Ah, that makes sense , great site , can see Ralphs recommendations on home page.
Zed Parts
Rewiring my z900A4 and needed some bullet connectors and battery cable & crimps. These guys have the parts I / you may need for such rewiring/repair jobs. They are also into their Zeds and have a section on parts for them. An alternative to ZPower if out of stock but check/compare prices. https:...

Re: Z900 A4 not running right on 2 cylinders
Thanks for the reply , apology for keeping it basic , you understand the wiring , bin the relay until it runs properly, agree like others ( and yourself) the coils as a starting point .

Re: Z900 A4 not running right on 2 cylinders
Are you still running with the original wiring harness? I have changed mine out to a zPower replica as I was getting a few faults that I am putting down to high resistance and poor earths. I guess also you don't have the original Ballast Resistor fitted and the coils are new 5 ohm ( not 3 ohm ) alth...

Re: Low Compression
Apart from getting 130 PSI.... which gives me an idea that the bores and valves are probably gonna be ok.

Yeah , would hope to get closer to spec once its running ....a wee bit away as yet but working through the resto. New wiring harness and reg/rect unit ( ZPower) going on at the moment, 50 year old wiring is brittle and connectors loose , been hacked about a bit by me over the years , surprised it la...

Low Compression
Think I am avoiding the obvious but seek opinions from you folks. Zed been standing idle for a long time, got around to refurb , just checked compression and getting around 100 PSI per cylinder max. Cold engine and just had oil change after a couple of weeks drained down , no carbs or exhaust on and...
